Losing the Vegas Weight

I’m coming clean. My name is Corinne and I gained 7 pounds while in Vegas (waits for gasps in the audience to die down). Why have I waited this long to tell everyone of my surge in weight? Because I didn’t want to let you down.

Many of you read my blog and especially my vacation blogs to find out how to deal with travelling. I knew if the first thing I did was bellyache that I gained seven pounds in Vegas half of you would call the travel agent right then and cancel your summer vacation. That might be a little over the top, but there are a few of you who laughed thinking you would.

Seriously, this article is yet again talking about having a healthy relationship with the scale. I knew coming home it wouldn’t be good and here’s why:

1. I drank on this trip and I never drink. Alcohol and not enough water is bad for the body.

2. I ate salty foods on this trip. Can we say too much sodium?

3. TOM. Enough said. There’s three of the pounds easy.

4. An airplane ride. I always bloat up after being on an airplane.

5. Sheer volume of food. I allowed myself to indulge with food the last day since we aren’t going back for a few months. I know, poor Corinne isn’t going to Vegas for three whole months…boohoo.

All of that equaled a total of seven glorious pounds on the scale. I said, “Oh well, let’s get busy and back to clean eating.” I didn’t let it bother me and I made the best of it with a lot of exercise and healthy choices.

Today is one week from that weigh in and I am proud to say all seven pounds are gone. Bye-bye water, bye-bye bloat, and bye-bye one or two pounds of fat named Lemon Drop Shots. I didn’t have to starve and I didn’t have to kill myself. I just went back to my “lifestyle.”
