What finally made you decide to lose weight? I was looking for a way to get fit for my wedding. It was May 2002. I got fit and looked awesome in my dress. The cool thing is I look even better now in it!
What type of diet did you follow? Weight Watchers/Clean Eating
Why did you choose this diet? I selected Weight Watchers, because it worked for me. I enjoyed the FLEX plan in the beginning because it allowed me to still eat those foods I loved most. I eventually switched over to CORE. I now follow the CORE plan along with clean eating.
How long were you on your diet program? I started WW in August of 2001. I then stopped and started back in August of 2005. I lost the remaining amount of weight and have been at my lifetime goal since December of 2005.
What kinds of physical activities do you like doing to maintain your weight and to stay fit? I love to run! This year I have run several 5k's plus a 10k and a half marathon. Next year I plan on doing even more. I also enjoy Strength Training.
What were the most difficult obstacles you had to overcome or are still overcoming? FOOD! I am addicted to food, I will admit it. I come from a large family that literally parties around the clock. The hardest thing for me is attending these parties and depriving myself of the goodies. This obstacle is one I am still trying to nail down, however, since working with Corinne, my workouts are much too important to ruin with a big ole piece of chocolate.
How do you keep yourself motivated? My husband! He is so supportive of me. He calls me Skinny Jessy. Two words I never pictured together! I am also motivated by friends and family! I have met some great people from weight watchers and also from PNP.
Do you have any weight loss tips for our readers? Drink your water! Water is so important to weight loss. I strive to drink at least 100 oz of water a day.
Do you think it will be easy to fall back into your old patterns? Yes, but I've come too far to ruin it. I have my friends to help push me along. Whenever I feel like Fat Girl Thinking is rearing it's head. I break out the old photos and remember those times.
How do you prevent this from happening? FGT shows up more often than you think, but I just try to keep myself active on the site, or email a friend.
Do you have a favorite Web site or blog that helped or inspired you to lose weight? Weightwatchers.com
