Meet Lorie

Lorie - Our Motivated Shortie
Conway, AR
33 years old
Starting Weight: 162
Current Weight: 112
Goal Weight: 112

What finally made you decide to start with PNP? I had lost some weight on my own with diet and exercise, but I came to a plateau, and just couldn't get exactly "where" I wanted to go.

What type of diet did you follow along with PNP? None

Why did you choose to go with PNP eating? I needed to vary up my workouts and my eating.  I wanted someone that had been through a fat loss journey guiding my way.

How long did it take to get to your current physique? Started Jan 2006 on my own, started Feb. 2007 w/ PnP; I'm a work in progress.

What is a typical workout week like for you? I exercise 5 to 6 days a week.

What is a typical daily menu? My food is not very exciting. Breakfast - Old Fashioned Oatmeal, 1 TBS natural peanut butter, 1 banana (all mixed together), Snack#1  - low fat string cheese & natural applesauce, Lunch - salad including spinach, grilled chicken breast, mandarin oranges, lowfat dressing. Snack #2 - low fat string cheese & cantaloupe. Supper - grilled chicken, sweet potato w/ cinnamon, green beans.  Snack #3 protein shake made w/ low fat milk.

What were the most difficult obstacles you had to overcome or are still overcoming? My most difficult obstacle is myself.  I've had to learn that it is OK to pass up good tasting, unhealthy foods.  I've never left somewhere thinking "man I wish I would have had some of that (insert non-healthy food here)".  But I can't tell you how many times pre-PnP that I've left places thinking, "man I wish I wouldn't have eaten that (insert same non-healthy food here)"

I also don't like to exercise.  I've learned that is OK.  No one says I have got to love it. I do it, and that's what is important.

How did you keep yourself motivated? First of all, I want to be a good example for our girls.  We have 2 small children (ages 2 & 6 years old). Second, I was sick and tired of being sick and tired. I had no energy. I love having more energy now. Third, I did not resemble the person my husband married 10 years ago on the inside or outside. I feel like I owe it to him to be the best wife that  I can be. I feel like this whole process has brought us closer as a couple. (By the way, he is also a PnP-er.  He has lost over 65 pounds).

What is your #1 Super-Secret Tip to success?  Writing down every single thing that goes in my mouth.

Do you think it will be easy to fall back into your old lifestyle
pattern?
Unfortunately, yes I do think it would be easy for me to fall back in to my old eating ways.  This is why I stay so diligent & disciplined in my efforts.

What's your favorite aspect of being with PNP? My favorite aspect is having Corinne.  As she states, she has "been there and done that in the 2XL shirt".  There is nothing I can't ask her or tell her that she hasn't gone through herself.
