What finally made you decide to start with PNP? I met Corinne on the WW Boards in April 2007. I wanted to get in shape before I got pregnant. It’s honestly taken me awhile to get one board but I am on this wagon and strapped on so I won’t fall off!
What type of diet did you follow along with PNP? Nothing. I try to eat clean but I haven’t mastered it 100%; I still have my occasional splurge but everyday I am working on trying to eat cleaner and healthier. This isn’t something that changes overnight but it’s an ongoing journey.
How long did it take to get to your current physique? I started in April 07 but it took me awhile to get things to stick in my head and realize they were a quick fix so I really think that I started back in September 07 when I started to believe that this was a lifestyle for me. I am still a work in progress.
What is a typical workout week like for you? Exercising during the week on average looks like 5 to 6 days a week.
What is a typical daily menu? Breakfast: Old Fashion Oatmeal w/ Peanut Butter Snack: Fruit & Cottage Cheese Lunch: Either leftovers from the night before along with a salad or Salad with Chicken/ Tuna on Top Snack: Protein Shake or a few nuts along with string cheese Dinner: Chicken/ Pork (most nights) Whole Wheat Pasta or Brown Rice and Veggies Snack: Fruit or 100 calorie pack popcorn
What were the most difficult obstacles you had to overcome or are still overcoming?
Believing in myself along with realizing that this had to become a lifestyle for myself instead of a quick fix that so many girls are looking for. I never really thought of myself giving up things that I LOVED in place of something that would be healthier. I have always been a candy addict and this was a HUGE struggle of mine but I feel better when I do pass it up and when I start to eat it again, it doesn’t have the same appeal to me. As for exercise, I had to learn to push myself to the limits to see the results I want and quit looking at the clock thinking I need to get out of here.
How did you keep yourself motivated? Watching my body get stronger and more definition that I know that I could have. Also seeing my body LOVE healthier foods instead of the junk food that I use to eat. I want this to be a creature of habit so when we have a family that it’s something that they are use too. My husband helps me stay motivated as well. Whenever I complain or start letting FGT creep up, he says, “You are doing a great job honey. You are looking great. I can really see a difference.” It makes me want to get to the gym and workout harder. And all of my PnP girls – you all motivate me in one-way or another.
What is your #1 Super-Secret Tip to success? Journalizing my food no matter what my day has been and also my exercise so I can look back and see what I can do to be better the next time.
Do you think it will be easy to fall back into your old lifestyle pattern? Yes. That is why its so important for me to keep in touch with all my accountability people and PREPLAN everything for each day. When I do mess up, I don’t let it drag me down. I just dust off and get up and start back where I fell down.
What's your favorite aspect of being with PNP? The support and love from the girls on PnP. They have not only shared with me fitness, healthy but also their friendship along side everything.
