This was Trish's welcome home - my kids were in the driveway with signs to cheer me home! They are holding signs my sister made and the CMM bears I got them at the Expo.

Check out those smiles - we did it!! Well, I did it - Kate has run these before and was so nice to me that she ran with me the whole time. She helped motivate and inspire me the whole race - I never would have run as well without her!!! Thank you Kate!

Around mile 10 or so we passed these great memorials to Johnny Cash and the Carter Family. Had to sneak in a photo!

There were also a lot of walkers, many walking for charity.

With over 30,000 runners, it took a while to start. In fact, Trish and Kate began a full hour AFTER the race started due to the "wave start."

There were thunder and rainstorms going through all morning. Luckily, it finished before we started, but it made for a soggy wait time. Our shoes and socks got very wet (no blisters reported) and stayed overcast throughout the race. It made for, ultimately, perfect running conditions but was a rough...

Trish is wearing a sign made by her daughter on her back. It has a drawing of a "webkinz" stuffed animal, riding a skateboard that says "Nashville Express." It says Run, Run, Run and I Know You Can Do it. It was some extra inspiration to push on to the finish line!
